Nothing can be more annoying that a web site that isn’t created properly. One item in particular that goes overlooked when properly used, but cursed when not, is when hyperlinks to documents or other websites open in the same window that they originated in. This forces the user to press the back button in their browser to get to the place they started, and in some cases many times if they were to explore the new site at all. This small feature is easily fixable within the SnapCMSTM with the hyperlink tool.
When creating a new link just follow these steps:
- Highlight the item you wish to hyperlink in the CMS.

- Click on the hyperlink icon to open the hyperlink pop-up window

- Insert your link in the “Source” fields

- Change the “Target” dropdown to “Blank”

- Click “insert” and “ok”
If you wish to change an existing link to open in a new window follow these steps:
- Click so that your cursor is anywhere inside the hyperlink

- Click on the hyperlink icon to open the hyperlink pop-up window

- Change the “Target” dropdown to “Blank”

- Click “apply” and “ok”
